When Will 2 Peter 3:10 Take Place?

Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”

The “great noise” mentioned refers to when the earth and the heaven are burned up. It will be a big sound.  It is referring to the time at the end of the thousand-year period of time.  Satan will be loosed, briefly (Revelation 20:7-10), before the Great White Throne Judgment takes place. He tries to gather a group. Those who come to the Millennial Kingdom who do not receive Christ join with Satan and try to take over the throne in Jerusalem.  They fail, and the Lord casts Satan and all who are with him into the Lake of Fire forever.

Revelation 20:11 says that the earth and the heaven fled away. This is similar to 2 Peter 3:10. The old earth and the old heavens and the third heaven have all been desecrated and burned up, but Satan himself (Revelation 20:10) has access to the throne room and accuses the brethren on a daily basis.

Then, in Revelation 21 (which correlates with Isaiah 65 and 66), He will create a New Heaven and a New Earth.

Jimmy DeYoung was a prophecy teacher and journalist who travelled the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. His goal was to equip Christians with the knowledge and understanding of what God’s Word says will happen someday soon, so that they can make better decisions today. Dr. DeYoung went home to be with his Savior on August 15, 2021.
