FALSE RELIGIONS: Islam (Part 3)

Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!

Today, we’re talking about Islam’s view of right and wrong.

Islam rejects the biblical view of God, Christ, and salvation … but it also rejects the biblical view of good and evil. You see, Islam rejects the concept of right and wrong found in the Bible, and, instead, embraces the concept of honor and shame.

The late Nabeel Qureshi, a former Muslim who became a Christian, described what this mindset is like for a follower of Islam. As a Muslim child, he would ask for a water cup at a restaurant and fill it with a soft drink. Getting caught – thereby suffering shame – was what made the act bad, not stealing the beverage.

But God’s Word teaches that sin is wrong BECAUSE IT IS CONTRARY TO THE HOLY COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, whether we get caught or not.

As Jesus says in John 17, “[God’s] word is truth.”

And there are more differences between Islam and Christianity. We’ll discuss them at another time.
