David Rubin is the author of 3 books including his brand new book, “Peace for Peace: Israel in the New Middle East”. He is the former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, and is the Founder and President of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund which deals with the trauma of terror victim children.

President Obama is heading to Israel next week. Because the president is in his second term, David believes the president feels he can do almost whatever he wants on foreign policy now that he doesn’t have to “look over his shoulder” at voters and donors. He expects President Obama to stroke the Israeli public and try to get them on his side regarding a two-state solution that includes an independent Palestinian state within Israel.

Secretary of State John Kerry has said that President Obama is not bringing a peace plan with him but David disagrees. David noted that President Obama’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be a “touchy-feely” affair but the private discussion will be intense with President Obama putting pressure upon Israel to withdraw from Judea and Samaria otherwise known as the West Bank.

David briefly described his “Peace for Peace” plan that begins with non-negotiable recognition that the land of Israel belongs to the state of Israel and includes the land from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean. He also discussed what appears to be the narrowing window of opportunity for stopping Iran’s nuclear military aspirations and Israel’s relationship with Egypt and Syria.
