TRUE RELIGION: The Case for the God of the Bible (Part 5)

Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!

Today, we’re talking about the case for the God of the Bible.

You know, many false religions have made prophecies in the past that never came true.

For example, Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism, claimed that Jesus Christ would return in 1891 – but that didn’t happen. Likewise, Charles Haze Russell, founder of The Jehovah’s Witnesses, claimed that 1914 would mark the end of human rulership on earth and usher in God’s Kingdom. Well, that didn’t occur either.

The only God who has kept His word by fulfilling specific prophecies is the biblical God. Old Testament prophecies give specific details of the coming Messiah’s birth, ministry, death, and resurrection hundreds of years before Christ. These and multitudes of other prophecies about Israel and surrounding nations clearly indicate that only the biblical God can be trusted to keep His word.

And what are other reasons to believe in the biblical God? We’ll discuss them another time.
