The beaded lacewing larva protects itself inside California termite nests by releasing a species-specific chemical that completely paralyzes termites thirty times its size. Evolutionary theory fails to explain how the larva survived or developed a highly targeted paralyzing agent before being consumed by the hosts. This sophisticated defense mechanism represents intentional design rather than a series of lucky, random mutations.
