Receding Hare Lines

Here’s a joke your children will enjoy. What do you call 10 rabbits standing in a row and walking backwards? The answer- A receding hare line. As one man put it, when we get old some hairs turn gray but others just turn loose.

Those receding hair lines are reminders of something else that is receding – your time. Just as our facial features and hairlines gradually change, so our lives are gradually slipping by. The face you saw in the mirror this morning is just a little older than it was yesterday.

Time is the one force we cannot escape. We are all gradually moving toward the end of our earthly life. For some people that’s a discouraging thought. But for the Christian those gray hairs are reminders that we are getting closer to home and the rewards God has prepared for us there.

So don’t let a receding hair line worry you and make you fret. Learn to use it as a daily reminder to redeem the time.
