Two Notes – Unconditional Love

Bob was a quiet, hard-working employee who hoped his dedication would result in a raise, but, after years with no pay increase, his loving wife gently convinced him to ask his boss. The next day, with fear and trembling, Bob requested and was given a nice pay increase.

He returned home to discover his wife had prepared a festive celebration meal with candles and all the trimmings. Bob told her the good news before going to change. Upon returning to the table, he found a note, “Congratulations Dear, I knew you would get the raise! This dinner is to show how much I love you!” Bob didn’t ask, but wondered how she could have been so confident.

After supper, he noticed a similar, but crumpled, paper in the trash. It read, “Don’t worry about not getting the raise. This dinner is to show how much I love you anyway!”

Scripture says to weep with them that weep and rejoice with them that rejoice. Both are great ways to redeem the time.
