Hannah Harington Clark – February 21, 1779

Experience the American dream with today’s Patriot of the Past interview. I’m your host, John Gillespie.

It’s February 21, 1779. I’m in North Carolina with Hannah Clark. Her house has just been burned down by the British.

JG: “Mrs. Clark, what will you do now that your house is destroyed?”

HHC: “Mr. Gillespie, while my husband, Colonel Clark, is gone away fighting the British, we will go to all the forts and camps we can to help our wounded soldiers. We must all do our part to help secure freedom.”

Patriots like Hannah Clarke sacrificed the security of their homes to secure freedom for all Americans.
