Jennifer found out late in pregnancy her unborn daughter had trisomy eighteen, a genetic condition. Most babies with this condition don’t survive, but some do. Jennifer said it was if doctors had “written off” her daughter Amber because she wasn’t expected to live. The first six months were difficult with numerous medical interventions. But many babies, like those with serious heart defects, face multiple surgeries and procedures. Against the odds, Amber did live and went off to school this month! She continues to struggle with considerable difficulties, but her happy spirit carries her on. Babies may come in surprising packages, but God has a purpose for their lives just the same. As parents, He simply asks us to trust in our Father and lean on Him through the hard times.
