Fast Facts: Cuttlefish – Part VI

Carl Kerby

Welcome to Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope. I’m Carl Kerby, and we’ve come to our final day on the cuttlefish. A lot of you probably never heard about this sea creature before, and I bet you’re glad you’ll probably never have to meet up with one!

We’ve talked about its amazing ability to change its shape, texture and color. Scientists have even gotten it to make itself look like a chessboard! We’ve talked about the ink it produces, and how it can swim with “jet propulsion.” The cuttlefish is remarkably clever, in a class with those brainy birds called pigeons.

The most incredible thing about the cuttlefish, however, is that it exists right in the middle of the ocean to serve the God who fashioned it to be so distinctive. Fact is … He had a plan to form the cuttlefish to display His creative power, and He made it with exceptional abilities to fulfill that role.

How is God equipping you to serve Him?
