Sharron Albertson is the director of Life Chain in Texas.

Life Chain began in Yuba City, California, in 1987 by Royce Dunn who was praying for a way to get the abortion clinics out of his area.

What exactly is a Life Chain?  According to the Life Chain mission statement:

“A Life Chain is a peaceful, prayerful, public witness of pro-life Americans (and Canadians) standing in remembrance of 62 million lives lost to abortion, praying for our nation, for people in crisis situations and for a permanent end to abortion.  It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children, hurts women and men and that the church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception to natural death.”

Those participating hold a professionally printed sign that is provided at the site.  Participants stand by main streets or highways for a period of time chosen by the group holding the event.  While most are held on the first Sunday in October (October 2nd this year) some may be on the third or even the last Sunday of October.  In other instances, some may be on Friday afternoons while people are out traveling to football games, while still others may be on Saturday morning while more people are in town.  Any day is a good day to stand up for life!

You can make a difference and affect the hearts of passing motorists as you support life.  So find out which Life Chain is closest to you by reviewing the contact information listed below.

This broadcast also dealt with several accounts concerning the story of Mark Houck, a well known pro-life author, sidewalk counselor and father who was allegedly the latest victim of a U.S. Department of Justice sponsored raid and arrest. (There is some dispute among news sources concerning some facts of the case, such as whether a S.W.A.T. team was involved or not.)  The arrest is said to be over alleged Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (F.A.C.E.) violations.

Jim then contrasted this case with the obvious silence from law enforcement over the many incidents of vandalism, graffiti and threats against pro-life pregnancy care centers and individuals.

Jim also opened the phone lines so that listeners could share their concerns.
