Welcome!
I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about the importance of family time again.
Today’s family breakdown is contributing to an increase in loneliness, and that’s creating a HEALTH CRISIS.
According to the University of Texas Institute for Public Health, people socially isolated are more likely to have viruses and respiratory illnesses, 29% more likely to have heart disease, 32% more likely to have a stroke, four times as likely to die from heart failure, 50% more likely to have dementia, more likely to die prematurely, and more likely to be anxious, depressed, or commit suicide. It concluded with this: “People with more social connections, a wide variety of relationships, and supportive friends and family are healthier than those who are lonely.” (see “Social Isolation | Institute for Public Health | Institute for Public Health | University Health.” University Health, www.universityhealth.com/public-health/factors-shaping-health/social-community-support/social-isolation)
Psalm 68:6 says, “God sets the solitary in families” (NKJV). Spending time with your family might just be the best thing for you.
Now, what else should believers know about family time? We’ll discuss that another time.
