Is Heaven a Real Place? (Part 1)

Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!

Today, we’re talking about Heaven.

Most of us have seen Heaven depicted as a serene place where cherub angels lie tranquilly on clouds and strum harps. Such cartoonish portrayals of Heaven may make some question whether such a place really exists.

But Jesus Christ described Heaven as a literal place of paradise where God’s people will spend eternity.

In fact, Jesus told His disciples, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:2-3 KJV)

As Charles Swindoll said, “Heaven is an actual place. A prepared place, designed for God’s redeemed people, those who have accepted God’s free gift of His Son.”

How else do we know Heaven’s real? We’ll discuss that another time.
