The deep-sea dragon fish possesses chlorophyll-based vision that allows it to detect red light where most other deep-water creatures cannot. It also produces its own red bioluminescent light, enabling it to illuminate prey without being detected. This combination gives the fish a unique hunting advantage in dark ocean depths.
