On the road to Quentin Road Christmas

Our friend Pastor Jim Scudder of In Grace (heard daily on the VCY America Radio Network at 10:30 AM Central) invited us to the Quentin Road Christmas program in Lake Zurich, Illinois. The church, school, Bible college, and day care combined to create an incredible Christmas program.

The script and many of the songs were written by Linda Scudder, wife of the founding pastor James Scudder, Sr. It opens by focusing on the sheep raised by the shepherds for the Temple sacrifices, pointing forward to the Lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world!

A large choir of “lambs” joined for some of the songs.

Mary and Joseph arriving by donkey
Angels heralding the birth of the King of the Jews
Wise Men bringing gifts for the newborn King

One of the unique features of the Quentin Road Christmas Program is that it doesn’t end with the birth of Jesus, but rather follows the life of Jesus, pointing out the reason why He came!

Palm Sunday
The Crucifixion of Jesus – the Lamb of God was sacrificed for the sins of the world

Yes, at this time of year we can celebrate that He came – but let’s remember why He came!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life!

John 3:16
