When Is the Day of the Lord?

Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!

Anytime in history when the Lord intercedes personally in the affairs of man on the earth.

Specifically, it refers to the time when Jesus steps back on the Mount of Olives in the city of Jerusalem.

Generally, it refers to the thousand-and-seven-year period of time that makes up the Millennium and Tribulation.  The rapture is not the Day of the Lord, but as soon as the rapture has happened, the Day of the Lord begins and extends to the seven-year Tribulation period. It also extends through the Second Coming of Christ and the Millennial kingdom.

At the end of the Millennial kingdom and before the Great White Throne Judgment, the thousand-and-seven-year time period is completed, and the Day of the Lord is over. In Scripture, it is often referred to as “in that Day:”

  • Isaiah 17:4
  • Isaiah 17:7
  • Isaiah 17:9
  • Isaiah 17:11

Jimmy DeYoung was a prophecy teacher and journalist who travelled the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. His goal was to equip Christians with the knowledge and understanding of what God’s Word says will happen someday soon, so that they can make better decisions today. Dr. DeYoung went home to be with his Savior on August 15, 2021.
