After the attempted assassination of Donald Trump in Butler Pennsylvania, many on the left have shown their true colors. The mere fact that anyone lamented over this should concern all of us. In addition, it is incredibly ironic that the side that supposedly champions democracy with such excitement would have liked to see their opponent in a democratic election murdered.
Campus Reform reported that it was not just low-level Democrats who acted with sadness when Trump survived. Even professors at prestigious universities stated that they would have liked to see former President Trump murdered. Reporter Adam Sabes states: “A professor at Rutgers University is under an internal review after posts she made on Facebook following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.”
Rutgers University Writing Program Assistant Teaching Professor Tracy Budd posted on Facebook the following statements: “Let’s hope today’s events inspire others,” and in a separate post, “They shot his wig. Sad.”
Such behavior coming from a college professor who educates students who pay tens of thousands of dollars to study at Rutgers is extremely concerning. Is this really who we are paying to train our children for the workforce? This is emblematic of the left-wing takeover of higher learning institutions.
Rightfully, Rutgers University put Professor Budd under internal review for her comments. The University stated that there is no place for the calling of political violence in our republic. Free speech is one thing, actively hoping for murder is another.
The consequences for this professor should be swift and harsh, and she should learn her lesson. When a Republican posted about harming Joe Biden last year, his home was raided and he was thoroughly investigated. Unfortunately, he was killed due to his combative nature, but similar investigations would only seem fair when such threats come from the other side.
