Fast Facts: Bears (Part 1)

Welcome to Fast Facts with Reasons for Hope!

I’m Carl Kerby and we’re checking out the massive, power house, top-of-the-food-chain predator … the Brown Bear!

Most of us are familiar with the Alaskan Kodiak or the Immense Grizzly, but brown bears are also found across Northern Europe. We’ve only seen them in history as the dancing bear in shows, but don’t let that illusion fool you … these guys are huge and dangerous!

Check out the Siberian Brown Bear … standing at 9-feet tall and weighing 800 pounds! Then the American Grizzly weighs in at a whopping 1,500 pounds! And yet he is still 5% smaller than the Alaskan Kodiak – one of the largest carnivores on land.

THAT’S HUGE!!

These amazing creatures are highly intelligent, have excellent memories, and are even mentioned in the Bible, but we’re out of time for today … so check back soon! Until then, stay bold!
