This edition of Crosstalk began with a prayer request concerning the wife of Usama Dakdok, host of Revealing the Truth About Islam, a program heard daily on the VCY America Network.

Usama’s wife, Vicki, is facing serious medical needs. Some spots and lesion were found under her tongue. They were removed but were found to be cancerous. More surgery is needed and that will be done this Monday with radiation to follow.

The Presbyterian Church USA (10,000 congregations and 1.8 million members) has voted to approve gay marriage in their church constitution thus becoming the largest Protestant group to formally recognize same-sex marriage as Christian in every congregation. The change takes effect this June 21st. This decision adds another denomination to a list that includes the Episcopal Church, the United Church of Christ, the Quakers and the Unitarian Universalists Association of Churches.

In addition to this story, Vic presented more evidence revealing the blatant disregard churches are showing toward marriage as defined by God.

–The National Baptist Fellowship of Concerned Pastors is standing in protest against an invitation by the American Baptist College in Nashville to Bishop Yvette Flunder to speak at the college for a lecture series. Bishop Flunder is an open lesbian, legally married to another woman.

–San Francisco City Church is ending its policy of banning LGBT members who are unable and unwilling to take a vow of celibacy.

–A Franklin, Tennessee, pastor recently announces that not only can practicing homosexuals be members, but those in sexual sin can fully serve in his church and will be allowed to get married at the facility as well.

–Russell Moore, the president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, challenges Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore on same-sex marriages.

–Wheaton College hires Julie Rodgers, an openly gay, celibate Christian, to provide spiritual care for students.

–Utah lawmakers pass an anti-LGBT discrimination bill endorsed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (The Mormons).

As Vic prepared to take phone calls, he challenged listeners to ask themselves the following questions:

What is your reaction to the Presbyterian Church USA’s vote to approve same-sex marriage?

Would you stay in a church that gives approval to same-sex marriage?

What are you doing in your church to preserve the biblical teaching on marriage?
