I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about the Fruit of the Spirit again.
The word “love” gets a lot of attention in pop culture today, but Scripture has a lot to say about love as well. In fact, Galatians 5 lists LOVE as the very first fruit of the Spirit — and what God means by LOVE is far different from what the secular world means.
LOVE is a character quality that God produces in believers that reflects HIS OWN LOVE. As we yield to the Holy Spirit’s working in our hearts, He produces the kind of love that Christ demonstrated when He gave Himself for us — one that’s sacrificial and selfless.
As Corrie Ten Boom said, “We must mirror God’s love in the midst of a world full of hatred. We are the mirrors of God’s love, so we may show Jesus by our lives.” (ten Boom, Corrie. “We Must Mirror God’s Love in the Midst of a World Full of Hatred.” QuoteFancy)
