Prayer (Part 3)

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about prayer again.

You know, people often use prayer to “change things.” And it’s true that, after praying, things often DO change as God answers the sincere pleas of His people. But whether prayer changes our circumstances or not — IT SHOULD ALWAYS CHANGE US! That’s because when we pray, the Holy Spirit brings conviction to our hearts, gives understanding to our minds, helps us have a sense of peace, and comforts us through life’s storms.

Philippians 4:6 says this, “[B]e anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (NASB) When we do, “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,” guards our hearts and minds.

The late Sam Shoemaker said, “Prayer may not change things for you, but it for sure changes you for things.” (“Sam Shoemaker Quote.” A-Z Quotes, www.azquotes.com/quote/586095)

Now, what else should believers know about prayer? We’ll discuss that another time.
