Prayer (Part 1)

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about prayer.

Christians have always believed that PRAYER can help with medical conditions — but now the secular medical world might be catching up.

According to an article published in the peer-reviewed — and secular — Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, a report on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) revealed that PRAYER “was the most common CAM therapy, used by more than 60% of survey respondents.” (Raphael Nyarkotey Obu, and Lawrencia Aggrey-Bluwey. “A Mixed Questionnaire Study on Prayer As Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Ghana”. Journal of Complementary and Alternative Medical Research, vol. 16, no. 4, Dec. 2021, pp. 196–208, doi:10.9734/jocamr/2021/v16i430309) In other words, of all adjunct therapies used in conjunction with standard medical procedures, PRAYER was the most common!

Even for believers, it’s easy to underrate the power of prayer — or better said, the power of a GOD WHO ANSWERS PRAYER. But the Lord wants us to seek His help with whatever needs we have, whether  physical, mental, or emotional.

As author E.M Bounds wrote, “God desires to glorify His name by answering prayer.” (Coach, Prayer. “Prayer Quotes – E.M. Bounds.” Prayer Coach, 8 Feb. 2025, prayer-coach.com/prayer-quotes-e-m-bounds-2)

Now what else should believers know about prayer? We’ll discuss that another time.
