Welcome!
Today, we’re talking about character.
You know, the world says a lot about being “loving” today, and so does the Bible — but what they say is totally different from each other.
You see, the world’s concept of “loving” is to affirm whatever people want to do — even if that something is wrong. But 1 Corinthians 13:6 tells us just the opposite: love is patient and kind, but it also “does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth” (ESV).
After all, as Jesus said in Matthew 22:37, the greatest commandment is to LOVE GOD! That means putting Him first — before ourselves, before others, and definitely before the pop culture. It also means putting HIS WAYS above our own ways and the ways of the world around us.
As Greg Laurie said, “If you want to live your Christian life to its fullest, then love Jesus more than anyone or anything else.” (A Quote From Start! To Follow. www.goodreads.com/quotes/742908-every-disciple-is-a-believer-but-not-every-believer-is)
So, should we love others, too? We’ll discuss that another time.
