Welcome!
Today we’re talking about character.
HONESTY is becoming increasingly rare.
According to the Ad Council, during the 1940s only 20% of college students admitted to cheating during high school, but recent surveys indicate that number has leaped to between 75%-98%. That’s a crazy-high number of students thinking it’s okay to cheat!
And the more a person acts DISHONESTLY, the easier it is to STAY dishonest.
In fact, a study by the University of London and Duke University found that when participants initially told lies, researchers using MRI technology “saw a great deal of activity in regions of the brain associated with emotions . . . [suggesting] that participants initially felt very bad about the lies they told. But over time, as participants lied again and again, these areas of the brain showed less and less activity.”
So, instead of becoming desensitized to sin, “Let us walk honestly” (Romans 13:13 KJV).
And why else is character important? We’ll discuss that another time.
