Trusting God’s Will (Part 2)

Welcome!

Today, we’re talking about God’s will.

Research by the National Institute of Health found that “[t]he increased importance of peers leads adolescents to want to alter their behavior in order to fit in; because they care more about what their friends think of them, they are more likely to go along with the crowd to avoid being rejected.”

This study on peer pressure reminds us of Jesus’ warning in Matthew 7: there’s danger in following the crowd — the destructive “broad way” of this world’s ideology. Following God’s will — “the narrow way” — is the only way leading to life — a way we must choose to follow.

As Elisabeth Elliot said, “The will of God is not something you add to your life. It’s a course you choose. You either line yourself up with the Son of God…or you capitulate to the principle which governs the rest of the world.”

And how is CHARACTER important for Christians? We’ll discuss that another time.
