Doing God’s Will (Part 1)

Welcome!

Today, we’re talking about God’s will.

An old children’s song from yesteryear goes like this: “O-B-E-D-I-E-N-C-E, obedience is the very best way to show that you believe.”

The truth is that some believers fret about finding God’s will for their lives while, at the same time, refusing to obey what they already DO know God wants them to do. The fact is that after salvation Christians still struggle with their stubborn sinful natures, and we must intentionally follow what God tells us in the Bible — we must OBEY.

As Henry Blackaby said, “Our difficulty is not that we don’t know God’s will. Our discomfort comes from the fact that we do know His will, but we do not want to do it.”

In other words, the problem isn’t really that we don’t KNOW what to FOLLOW but that we don’t FOLLOW what we already KNOW!

And what else should we think about God’s will? We’ll discuss that another time.
