Welcome!
Today, we’re talking about racism.
The Bible teaches that all people — regardless of race — are equal. After all, we’re all part of the HUMAN RACE!
But skeptics attack Christianity by pointing out racism prevalent throughout history, even in supposedly “Christian” nations. So, what does the Bible really teach about racism?
Well, the Old Testament clearly teaches that people of all races should be treated equally. In Leviticus 19:34, the Lord told Moses, “The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself” (NIV).
And that wasn’t just talk! Two well-known foreigners who turned to the Lord, married Israelites, and joined the Jewish community were Rahab and Ruth.
As John Piper said, “Every aspect of the way God views and saves sinners is designed to undermine racism and lead to a reconciled and redeemed humanity from every people group in the world.”
And what does the New Testament teach about racism? We’ll discuss that another time.
