Welcome!
Today, we’re talking about global missions.
Christian missionaries bring the Good News of Christ to the lost in all parts of the world.
And according to an article by The Jesus Film Project, missionaries help not only spiritual needs but also PHYSICAL needs of needy people, stating, “Whether it’s raising money to dig wells in water-starved countries or providing micro-loans to third-world entrepreneurs, Christians have been on the front lines in finding creative ways to love and serve people in places where they share the gospel.”
While critics accuse Western missionaries of endangering the traditional cultures of native peoples, missionaries have introduced life-saving medical care, taught modern methods of hygiene, and helped to stop such deadly practices such as cannibalism in primitive places. In contrast to the false idea that missionaries are primarily colonialist and racist, the work of missionaries continues to benefit the needy in countless ways.
And what should believers think about racism? We’ll discuss that another time.
