The Importance of Global Missions (Part 4)

Welcome!

Today, we’re talking about the importance of global missions.

Jesus told His disciples to go into all the world and preach the Gospel (Matthew 28:18-20). Missionaries are needed in every part of the earth to make this happen. But what about those who don’t feel God’s calling to become full-time missionaries? Can they still help fulfill The Great Commission?

The answer is ABSOLUTELY! All believers are called to participate in missions, even if we help in support roles.

How do we do that?

  • First, we can PRAY for those that God does send.
  • Second, we can GIVE to missionaries financially.
  • Third, we can ask the Lord to give us greater LOVE for the lost in the world.

As missionary Henry Martyn said, “The spirit of Christ is the spirit of missions. The nearer we get to him, the more intensely missionary we become.”

And what about those who say that global missions are racist? We’ll discuss that another time.
