Welcome!
Today, we’re talking about home missions.
How much good do home missions — like Christian rescue shelters — really do?
The answer is A LOT!
Citygate Network — formerly the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions — partners with approximately 300 rescue missions across America to help the needy in Christ’s name. These missions feed the hungry, house the homeless, and minister to those suffering addictions and abuse. In fact, in a typical year these home missions will serve 50 million meals, give away 30 million articles of clothing, share 20 million nights of housing, and help 20,000 through programs of addiction-recovery.
As Oswald Chambers said, “The real test of a saint is not one’s willingness to preach the gospel, but one’s willingness to do something like washing the disciples’ feet—that is, being willing to do those things that seem unimportant in human estimation but count as everything to God.”
And what should Christians think about GLOBAL missions? We’ll discuss that another time.
