Stewardship (Part 3)

Welcome!

Today, we’re talking about stewardship.

Scripture says, “[I]t is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2 KJV).

As Christians, it’s important to be faithful with our material possessions — but it’s also important to be faithful stewards in our CIVIC DUTIES. In fact, 1 Peter 2:12 tells us, “Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation” (ESV). In other words, when the world sees Christians being good citizens, God is glorified.

As Francis Schaeffer said, “No work of art is more important than the Christian’s life, and every Christian is called to be an artist in this sense… The Christian’s life is to be a thing of truth and also a thing of beauty in the midst of a lost and despairing world.”

So, should Christians perform community service? We’ll discuss that another time.
