I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about being a good steward of creation.
In Genesis 1:28, God told mankind to “have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” But what does it really mean to “HAVE DOMINION?”
Well, DOMINION is best defined as human management of earth’s resources in a Christ-honoring way.
Modern environmentalism has this backwards with its idea of “Mother Nature,” which implies the earth is to be SERVED rather than to be SERVICEABLE to humans for God’s glory.
As Apologist Francis Schaeffer said, “The Christian is called upon to exhibit … dominion, but exhibit it rightly; treating the thing as having value in itself, exercising dominion without being destructive.”
