Charity (Part 3)

Welcome!

Today, we’re talking about charity.

Charitable organizations — specifically religious ones — have long helped the needy. But ministry shouldn’t just be the work of 501c3’s — it should be the work of EVERY CHRISTIAN.

You see, Scripture doesn’t just call corporate churches and charities to help the hurting — He calls INDIVIDUAL BELIEVERS to do so as well.

In fact, Proverbs 19:17 says, “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” (ESV)

So, how can we practically help those in need? Well, we can volunteer at church soup kitchens, Gospel missions, or local charities — or by simply noticing any need of someone around us and then doing our best to meet it.

After all, it was Jesus who said that when you “have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (KJV)

And how else should believers think about charity? We’ll discuss that another time.
