Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!
Today, we’re talking about Hell.
Although some people try to deny the existence of Hell, what they can’t deny is how much the Bible talks about it! In fact, a full seven New Testament books – written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, and Peter – make clear references to Hell as a literal place. In fact, Jesus talked about Hell more than anyone else in Scripture, describing it as a place of eternal punishment: “Where … the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:43-46, 48).
With so much scriptural evidence about Hell, why would people deny its existence? In reality, it comes down to people NOT WANTING to believe in it.
As Evangelist J. C. Ryle said, “There is such a place as [H]ell. Let no one deceive you with vain words. What people do not like, they try hard not to believe.”
What causes people to go to Hell? We’ll discuss that another time.
