Welcome!
I’m Bub Kuns and today we’re talking about the importance of an intact family .
The U.S. Department of Justice reveals that almost 30% of kids in America under 14 are taken care of by older siblings or take care of THEMSELVES before and after school. That’s nearly 10 million “latchkey” kids. According to the DOJ, these kids face increased risk of abuse, crime, substance addiction, and emotional problems.
But the Bible teaches that children should be brought up in “the nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4), which happens best when parents are devoted to the Lord and each other and deeply involved in their kids’ lives.
As professional counselor Willie Williams, Jr. said, “If I could attribute any one thing to the success my family has experienced through the years, it would simply be my wife and I took the time to be there for our kids.”
And why else in an intact family important? We’ll discuss that another time.
