LIFE ISSUES: Physician-Assisted Suicide (Part 2)

Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!

Today, we’re talking about physician-assisted suicide.

PAS is more than just a problem in America.

Internationally, Holland, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Spain, and New Zealand have all legalized the practice — with very chilling results.

According to the UK Guardian, for example, the number of people who have died from physician-assisted suicide in Switzerland quadrupled from 2003 to 2016. In Holland, children as young as 12 can now request death at a doctor’s hand. And in Belgium, there is NO MINIMUM AGE for children requesting physician-assisted suicide.

Physician-assisted suicide may sound like a compassionate idea but, in reality, it becomes a slippery slope where people — even kids — can choose to kill themselves for almost any reason. This devalues life and denies God’s exclusive right take it.

As Job 12 says, “In [God’s] hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.”

And what are other problems with physician-assisted suicide? We’ll discuss them another time.
