Today, we’re talking about understanding the enemy’s strategies.
Pop/rock music is one way Satan influences young people away from biblical truth on moral issues.
If you have any doubts, just take some contemporary pop/rock hits as examples: Miley Cyrus’s “Dooo It!” encourages smoking marijuana, Beyonce’s “No Angel” and “Drunk in Love” are filled with sexually-explicit ideas, and Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” advocates homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle.
You see, far from being neutral force, pop/rock music often promotes a philosophy that is contrary to biblical principles.
And today this music is with us EVERYWHERE—at the grocery store, gas station, and doctor’s office. In fact, we can hardly use a computer without rock video ads popping up on the computer.
It’s more important than ever to think on—as Philippians 4 instructs us—“whatever is pure.”
