BIBLE: Interesting Facts (Part 1)

Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!

Let’s talk about the bestselling book of all time … THE BIBLE.

The Bible sells a staggering half million copies per year and is also the most shoplifted book of all time … I pray the thief reads it!

The Bible is the most translated book in history with over 690 translations.  Its closest competition is “The Little Prince,” which has been translated into more than 380 languages.

The Bible has influenced our culture with towns that have names like Ararat, Bethany, Hebron, and Bethlehem.  We know people with biblical names such as Jacob, Noah, Daniel, Michael, Elijah, Sarah, and Elizabeth.

As a matter of fact, out of the top fifty names of 2020, more than 20 of them were biblical.

We even use biblical phrases like, “the blind leading the blind,” “drop in the bucket,“ and “by the skin of my teeth.”

Next time, we’re going to dive back into more interesting facts about the Bible.
