BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW: Why the Resurrection Matters

Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!

Today, we’re talking about why the Resurrection matters. Some might say, “Okay, Carl, there’s overwhelming evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but what difference does it really make if it’s not historically true?”

Well … the difference means everything! You see, if Jesus Christ didn’t really rise from the dead like He foretold, then nothing He said can be trusted as reliable. He was just another religious leader making empty promises that didn’t come true.

As apologist Michael Green said:

Christianity stands of falls with the truth of the resurrection. Once disproved, you have disposed of Christianity.

BUT … if Jesus did rise from the dead, then the Resurrection verifies that He is Who He said: the Son of God and Savior of the World. Salvation is only possible because Jesus arose. As He Himself said, “Because I live, you can live also.”

Why do so many people say Jesus was just a good teacher? We’ll discuss that another time.
