WORLDVIEW: Deconstruction

Today, we’re talking about worldviews. When you hear the term “deconstruction,” you may think of a bulldozer. But, philosophically, deconstruction is the idea that every traditional institution in society must be questioned, challenged, and then dismantled.

Originating as a literary theory, deconstruction seeped into the broader culture as institutions like the family, church, and government were accused of simply being arbitrary, man-made constructs used to oppress specific people. Deconstruction now includes dismantling traditional marriage and biological gender.

But deconstruction ignores science, logic, history, experience, and most importantly, the Bible. Romans 13:1 tells us, “For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” In other words, God established the institutions of family, church, and government – not people wanting to oppress those they disliked.

In contrast to all the wrong worldviews in society, there are good reasons to support the biblical worldview, but we’ll discuss those another time. Until then, for more information, go to www.hopetools.net.  Stay bold!
