WORLDVIEW: Naturalism – a Worldview that Devalues Human Life

Today, we’re talking about worldviews. Naturalism – the idea that man is the product of random natural forces – is dangerous not only because it rejects God as Creator, but also because it devalues human life. After all, if man was just a cosmic accident, why would humans be special?

In the words of Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, who was strongly influenced by Darwinism:

I see no reason for attributing to man a significance different in kind from that which belongs to a baboon or a grain of sand.

Wow!

The sad fact is that naturalistic ideas have real-life consequences. It’s no coincidence that homicides, abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, and suicide have all seen massive increases since the widespread acceptance of naturalism via Darwinian evolution. As Proverbs 16:25 states, “There’s a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”

Naturalism also leads to belief in DETERMINISM, but we’ll need to discuss that at another time. For more information, go to www.hopetools.net.  Stay bold!
