DESIGN: Evidence from Carbon Atoms

Today, we’re talking about the argument of design, specifically evidence from carbon atoms. Carbon atoms give unique evidence for design because, when arranged in different patterns, they produce wildly different things. Arranged one way, they produce coal, which can be hard or soft. Arranged a different way, they produce graphite, which is extremely soft. Arranged yet another way, they produce a diamond, which is the hardest natural substance known. The sheer versatility of carbon atoms is amazing, and the complex pattern of information they can produce points to a DESIGNER.

In fact, astronomer Fred Hoyle, who isn’t a Christian, said:

Some super-calculating intellect must have designed the properties of the carbon atom, otherwise the chance of my finding such an atom through the blind forces of nature would be utterly minuscule.

We know that “super-calculating Intellect” to be GOD. Colossians 1:17 says that by Him “all things consist,” or are held together.

You might be wondering, “Okay, I get atoms, but what does DNA show about design?” Well, that’s a topic we’ll have to address another time. Until then, find more apologetic resources at debunked.org. Stay bold!
