Attitude in Apologetics: Humility

Today, we’re talking about having the right attitude when using apologetics. Some people might be wondering, “Carl, does it really matter what kind of attitude I have when using apologetics? If I’m right, I’m right … RIGHT?”

Actually, that’s WRONG!

There is a mistaken idea that apologetics – knowing WHY you believe what you believe – is just a way to outsmart people you disagree with. Well, that may be ARGUMENT-GETICS, but it’s not BIBLICAL APOLOGETICS. In fact, in Colossians 4:5-6, Paul tells us, “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”

Paul is saying that HOW we answer the lost is as important as WHAT we tell them. The biblical worldview has the correct answers for the ultimate questions in life, but those answers need to be shared in humility and grace.

There’s another reason to have a right attitude with apologetics, but we’ll need to address that another time. Until then, find more apologetic resources at debunked.org. Stay bold!
