Today is 9/11, the sad anniversary of the terrorist attack on America. This event shocked America, and many wondered, “Where’s a loving God in this tragedy?” Immediately after, many pastors interviewed on television declared, “we don’t know why these things happen, we just need to trust God.” And while we do need to trust God, we can know the big picture for why tragedy happens!
This groaning world isn’t the world God made. He made a “very good” creation—we broke it because of our sin!
Death and suffering aren’t God’s fault—it’s ours because of sin. But God made a way to restore his creation and save us from our sin through his Son, Jesus.
