When you travel with VCY America, you will embark Thursday at 8:00 AM (motorcoach WILL start loading at 7:30 AM) for a beautiful ride on a 56 passenger deluxe motor coach from a spacious and safe parking lot in Brookfield, WI (Brookside Baptist Church) to the Branson area. Along the way we’ll stop for a bite to eat in Springfield, IL (on your own MENU) and visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum . Explore Abraham Lincoln’s early life from his boyhood in a Kentucky cabin through his 1860 campaign for President of the United States. Cruel personal and political attacks that greeted the Lincolns when they arrived in Washington, D.C., gave way to an outpouring of grief following his assassination on April 14, 1865. Somber scenes of mourning give way to consideration of Lincoln’s powerful hold on Americans.
On Thursday night, we will stop for dinner at the Hemingway’s Blue Water Cafe at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO (on your own MENU – or grab and go snack bar). We will check in for the first of two nights at the Best Western Center Pointe Inn Branson (included with your package).
Friday morning, following the breakfast at the hotel (included) we will head to the new Truth Traveler experience: Fear Not, an immersive theatrical production that transports guests to ancient Israel during the chaotic reign of Rome and Herod the Great. Witness the awe-inspiring moment when God stepped into history as Jesus Christ, and explore the extraordinary events that Mary treasured in her heart.
After lunch at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen at Branson Landing (included) we’ll head over to Sight and Sound. With original music inspired by the Psalms, DAVID is a state-of-the-art theatrical experience for the whole family. Witness one of the most legendary Bible stories as it comes to life with spectacular special effects, massive sets, and live animals in this original stage production.
After dinner at College of the Ozark’s student-prepared and served, farm-to-table service (included: The Keeter Center Salad (Baby Greens topped with Cucumber, Shredded Carrots, Craisins, Cherry Tomatoes served with our
House Pear Honey Vinaigrette Dressing), Duet of Roasted Pork Loin and Chicken Breast (GF) with Blueberry Thyme Demi-Glace. Served with Whipped Potatoes, and Sautéed Green Beans, House-Made Rolls and Whipped Butter, Coffee, Iced Tea, and Water, and Cinnamon Swirl Coffee Cake with Caramel Sauce) and a brief tour of “Hard Work U” we’ll load back up on the deluxe motor coach to head to the hotel.
Saturday morning, following breakfast at the hotel (included), we’ll head back and stop at the St. Louis Arch and ride up to the top! Lunch will be on your own at the Arch Cafe (MENU). We should arrive back in Brookfield around 9:30 PM on Saturday so you can be well rested for church on Sunday.
