Today is Election Day. Go vote. If you haven’t already, stop what you are doing and make it happen before the polls close tonight!
Ronald Reagan said that God’s hand is on America in a very preferential way. We have inherited a wonderful land of liberty and prosperity, and it is the personal duty of each of us to safeguard that heritage. We have the right of self-government — a right very few people in history have ever enjoyed. We’re falling down on the job if we fail to use it today.
I know this is not a presidential race. The energy feels different in a midterm year — and the left is counting on that. Their base turns out in midterm elections with discipline and organization. The question today is whether conservatives will match them in strategy and energy!
Phyllis Schlafly put it plainly decades ago and it has never stopped being true: this election allows you a chance to make your choice about what kind of country you want America to be. That choice does not disappear in off years — it compounds.
The congressional races decided today will determine whether the America First agenda has partners or opponents for the next two years. Senate seats decide whether constitutionalist judges reach the Supreme Court. House seats decide whether the administration has tools to govern or faces obstruction and investigation. State legislative and local races determine data center policies, parental rights laws, and election integrity measures at the local level where so much is actually decided.
Our unalienable rights are defended or eroded one election at a time. Every vote on every race on today’s ballot matters: The school board seat, the state house district, the congressional race that the media told you was not competitive. Someone wins every one of those offices today, and it will be whoever shows up.
Today that work is simple: Vote. Take someone with you. And don’t spend tonight watching results wishing you had participated or convinced more to do the same. We have a unique role in history – to direct the office holders of our nation. Let us not take it lightly no matter how secure any seat may seem or how far gone the system sometimes appears. This is our sacred responsibility, and I hope that you’ll exercise that with me today.
