Fruit of the Spirit (Part 7)

Welcome!

I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about the Fruit of the Spirit again.

In old Western movies, the hero was always clearly “the good guy.” But our topsy-turvy world has reversed that. Today, pop culture idolizes the “bad boy” — someone who breaks societal rules and pushes against cultural norms.

But God values GOODNESS — a Fruit of the Spirit He produces in believers so that they value what’s virtuous and right, helping them be lights in a dark world. And although goodness may not be popular today, it’s POWERFUL.

As D. L. Moody said, “Even the vilest, the most impure, acknowledge the power of goodness . . . It may condemn their lives and cause them to say bitter things at times, but down deep in their hearts they know that the man or woman who is living that kind of life is superior to them.” (Moody, D. L. Secret Power. Fleming H. Revell Company, 1897)

Now what other attribute does the Fruit of the Spirit produce in believers? We’ll discuss that another time.
