You know, a common myth in our culture is that it’s a good idea to live together before marriage to make sure you are “compatible.”
But research by the National Center for Health Statistics shows that those who live together before marriage are actually LESS LIKELY to stay together when they do marry.
In their book Hooked: New Science on How Casual Sex is Affecting Our Children, authors McIlhaney Jr. and Bush found that those who live together have a REDUCED CHANCE OF EVER GETTING MARRIED AT ALL, stating, “While it’s possible that a couple having sex before marriage will one day make a lifelong commitment, it is statistically more likely they won’t.”
Doing things God’s way is always the best thing for you. As Hebrews 13:4 reminds us, “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled.”
