I’m Bub Kuns, and today we’re talking about prayer again.
Investing is becoming increasingly popular in America. In fact, according to Gallup’s Economy and Personal Finance Survey (Gallup, Inc. “What Percentage of Americans Own Stock?” Gallup.com, 5 May 2025, news.gallup.com/poll/266807/percentage-americans-owns-stock.aspx), a whopping 61% of Americans own stock as they try to live better now through dividends and plan for secure futures. But the Bible tells us about another type of investment that we often neglect — PRAYER.
As Charles Swindoll said, “Prayer is an investment. The time you dedicate to prayer isn’t lost; it will return dividends far greater than what a few moments spent on a task ever could.” (“Charles R. Swindoll Quote.” A-Z Quotes, www.azquotes.com/quote/662720)
You see, prayer gives believers a chance to invest in eternity by building their relationships with the Lord and interceding for others in need — especially for those in need of the Gospel.
As Jesus said, it all really comes down to “laying up treasures in Heaven” (Matthew 6:20) rather than earth — and that’s investing for the long-term!
