Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!
Today, we’re talking about facing death.
Even though DEATH isn’t a pleasant topic to discuss, it’s a reality we all face.
But why is death a part of our world, anyway?
Well, Scripture says that when God created earth, everything He made was “good.” Death – and the sickness, disease, and degeneration that precede it – didn’t exist. Romans 5:12 says that it was “by one man [that] sin entered into the world.” In other words, Adam’s disobedience to God brought death – and everything harmful associated with it – into the world and corrupted it.
As Billy Graham said, “We are fallen creatures living in a fallen world that has been twisted and corrupted by sin, and we all share in its brokenness.”
The good news is that Scripture says God will one day make a new earth, one in which there will be no more death.
What else should the believer think about when facing death? We’ll discuss that another time.
